OVERVIEW

Hexal is a free for download single page portfolio template, embracing a truly geometric flat design.

This free template came to be as a byproduct of a failed design experiment with hexagons. The initial plan was to create a gird system solely based on hexagons, but don’t think of squares with hexagons inside, that would be cheating! The idea was to truly embrace the geometric property of a hexagon, that means utilizing the empty upper and lower space between two horizontal hexagons, with another equal hexagon or more than one smaller hexagons. Unfortunately the task became nigh impossible when scale was introduced in the equation. But at the same time, the galery was already done so I wasn’t going to let this one collect digital dust, and in doing so Hexal came to be!

As with most of the freebies I have made, everything used here is freely available for download. The font for the heading is called Maven Pro, while the font for the body is Lato. The place holder images of the portfolio are creations of Juan Carlos Paz, and make sure you check out his portfolio since you will be very pleasantly surprised.

In few weeks time I will release a functional HTML / CSS version Hexal, since at the moment I am wrapping up the documentation for the Flato UI Kit. In order not to miss it, make sure you subscriber for the newsletter, and you will get notified when it’s ready for download.

Heya this is somewhat of off topic but I was wanting to know if blogs use
WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually code with HTML.
I’m starting a blog soon but have no coding expertise so I wanted to get
advice from someone with experience. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    • Petrovski Marijan says:

Some code their themes from scratch, others buy them. But HTML / CSS can only get you so far, you would most likely need PHP & MySQL also, and at that point WYSIWYG editor becomes more of a hindrance than help. With no coding experience, your best bet would be to buy a WordPress template.

    • Alex says:

I you create it as a WordPress theme, you could install the WYSIWYG plugin with a couple of clicks and … voila, you got what you need.
